What To Expect?

Before Your Appointment - Must Read

Initial Appointment

Communicating your brow goals is key! That is why when you first come in to your appointment, we will sit down and discuss your lifestyle, the existing shape of your brows, the color you want to have, and the areas you wish to improve. It is greatly recommended and appreciated to bring photos to get an exact visual of how you are expecting your brows to look. The pigment we choose for your brows is determined by your skin tone and the natural color of your brow hair. During this time, we’ll snap a before photo so we can compare after the procedure.

To get a precise outline, a professional brow mapping tool is used before we commit to an eyebrow shape. Before beginning the procedure, we always ensure that you are happy with the shape and color. After you are happy with what you see, a topical numbing cream is applied and we wait around 15 minutes before beginning the microblading process. During this stage, we take the time to chat about your brows after-care instructions and schedule your follow-up appointment!

Once the brows are done, we’ll make sure you’re in love with your new brows! We’ll take an after photo and compare the pictures to see the incredible results. We will send you home with aftercare instructions!

After Appointment Instructions

Touch-Up Session

Four to six weeks after your first microblading procedure, a touch-up session is required. It is natural for your brows to gradually fade, so a touch-up refreshes the shape and color of your brows. During this touch-up appointment, we will assess how your skin has healed and will perfect your brows accordingly! Since this will just be a touch-up, the process will be accomplished faster. Whether it be a darker pigment, more density to the brow, or any other adjustments, this can all be accomplished during the touch up.

Color Boost

Color boost appointments can only be made if you have gotten your initial appointment done with Brows By ARCH. A color boost session is done every 12 to 24 months to refresh the brows, deepen the color, or fill in any gaps that have faded over time. While these appointments are NOT mandatory, it is recommended to keep your brows looking crisp and perfect as they did when they were freshly done.

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique that creates hair-like impressions by implanting pigment strokes under the skin of the eyebrow. This method is meant to mimic individual hairs for a very natural brow look. It heals best on healthy/dry/normal skin!

At Brows By ARCH, we also do combination brows. Combination, or combo, brows is a method that combines the microblading technique plus shading that adds thickness to the brow, giving it more of a makeup-esque look. This heals great on all skin types!

Give 3 hours for initial appointment and 2-2.5 hours for your touch-up session. Time depends on the individual, such as skin type, condition, age, etc.

It takes 10-14 days for the brows to heal.

  • Days 0-3: Expect the color to be the darkest, lightens up to 40-60%
  • Weeks 1-2: May scab and flake – try not to pick or scratch!
  • Weeks 2-3: Pigment appears faded
  • Weeks 4-6: Pigment resurfaces
  • Weeks 5-6: Touch-up completes the look

If you have oil skin, larger pores, or brow eczema, this procedure might not be for you, but rather a powder, ombre or machine hair strokes procedure. However, a free consultation is still available!

It lasts 1 to 2 years on average. Most clients will return one a year for an annual touch-up to maintain the fresh color and shape. However, this all depends on key factors, such as:

  • Age
  • Skin type
  • Lifestyle
  • Metabolism
  • Pigment color
  • Aftercare

Pain is subjective. While everyone has a higher or lower pain threshold, all of my clients have been able to handle it. Before we start the procedure, I apply the numbing cream to decrease the irritation. Throughout the process, I make sure you are comfortable and even can reapply the cream if needed. Some clients even fall asleep!

If you are currently on your menstrual cycle, you could experience slightly higher sensitivity.

No, you shouldn’t! You’ll experience redness and swelling, however it will subside within an hour.

Non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free, gamma-ray sterilized, and FDA approved pigments are the only ones I use. With my work, I only use the best quality materials and prioritize my clients long-term health. No toxic ingredients are ever used.
